Elk Lake is an 8,700 lake located in Williamsburg, Michigan. It is nestled next to the Grand Traverse Bay, a Northern Michigan staple. Downtown Traverse City is only 20 miles southwest, Grand Rapids is 153 miles south, and Detroit is 248 miles southeast.

The closest location for emergency care is the Munson Medical Center, 27 miles southeast. The Cherry Capital Airport is 23 miles southeast.

Elk Lake offers its residents a five-star lake experience! Spend the day cruising this large lake, and if you're so inclined, break out the inner tube, waterskis, or wakeboard.

Before heading onto the water, remember to grab your rod and reel! Anglers can expect to catch an array of fish, like largemouth, smallmouth, and rock bass, freshwater drum, coho salmon, brook and lake trout, walleye, yellow perch, and more!

The northern and southern ends of the lake provide gateways to even more fun on the water! The Edward C. Grace Memorial Harbor on the northern end of the lake gives its visitors an entrance to the Grand Traverse Bay. Residents can access Torch Lake and its famous sandbar via a small channel on the southern end of Elk Lake.

When visiting the “Cherry Capital of The World,” make sure to attend the National Cherry Festival and enjoy more than 150 events and activities. Many of the events are free. Participate in pit-spitting, pie-eating contests, or turtle races, just to name a few.
