Florida
Lake Margie real estate is a beautiful, but less active, market for lake homes and land in Florida.
There are typically very few lake homes for sale on Lake Margie, and very few lots and land listings available.
This lake is one of the many smaller Florida lakes.
Lake Margie is a private 22-acre lake in Keystone Heights, Florida owned and operated by the Big Tree Lakes Property Owners’ Association. Gainesville is under 35 miles away, great for a day trip.
The lake is 20 minutes from Shands Starke Regional Medical Center and a little over an hour from the Jacksonville International Airport. It’s also within 10 minutes from grocers such as Hitchcock's Market and Harvey’s.
Lake Margie lake residents can dine at local favorites such as Cedar River Seafood and Johnny’s Bar-B-Q. They can also sit down for a drink at McHenry’s Sports Pub or Madness at McGee’s.
Also in Keystone Heights is Lake Santa Fe, a 5,850-acre lake that is excellent for fishing. Anglers here can expect to catch primarily largemouth and sunshine bass.
For an exhilarating outdoor adventure off the lake, there are many options around the Keystone Heights area. These include both the Black Creek and Trail and the Black Creek Ravines Conservation Area, which offer hiking trails.
Additionally, the Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park consists of 2,000 acres of natural springs, lakes, and marshes and offers opportunities to camp, hike, swim, or go canoeing.
Gainesville features attractions like the Florida Museum of Natural History, Butterfly Rainforest, Ichetucknee Springs State Park, and the Gainesville Raceway.
Some of the city’s most anticipated events include the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire, Hogtown Craft Beer Festival, Jest Fest, Butterfly Fest, and the Downtown Festival and Art Show.
If you love Florida's warm climate and are looking for a classic lake experience, take a look at Lake Margie. It just might be the location of your next lake home!
