Lake Missaukee covers 1,880 acres, located in Lake City, with beautiful views of the water. It is 47.5 miles south of Traverse City, 145 miles north of Lansing, and 209 miles northwest of Detroit.

The closest international airport is the Cherry Capital Airport, 48 miles north of the lake. Cadillac Hospital is located 17 miles a little southwest of the lake and is open 24 hours.

Located a little over eight miles south of the lake is the Missaukee Golf Club, where golfers can play an 18-hole course filled with beautiful views. They offer lessons to anyone, and the 19th Hole Bar and Grill is part of the golf club.

After a long day outdoors, grab a bite to eat at one of the many fantastic restaurants in Lake City. Examples include Hammer's Pub and Grub, Tasty Treat, Pancho Villa Mexican Grill, and Don's American Pizza.

Wander around Clinch Park, Traverse City’s most popular beach. With over 1,500 feet of sand along the West Grand Traverse Bay, it is perfect for soaking in the sun and scenic views of the water. Clinch Park has picnic tables, bike racks, trail access, a snack bar, and restrooms.

When visiting the “Cherry Capital of The World,” make sure to attend the National Cherry Festival and enjoy more than 150 events and activities. Many of the events are free. Participate in pit-spitting, pie-eating contests, or turtle races, just to name a few. During the festivities, make sure not to miss the three parades!
